How-to
Choose a password
A FormulooPM password has at least 12 characters, of any kind. The page that asks for it ticks each rule as you type.
Compose the password
Link to the “Compose the password” section- Use at least 12 characters. A sentence of four or five words, spaces included, is easier to type and to remember than a string of symbols.
- Use any characters you like. No capital letter, digit or special character is required.
- Do not reuse your username or your email address as they are. Both are refused.
- Keep this password for FormulooPM only.
Type it and confirm it
Link to the “Type it and confirm it” section- Type the password in Password. The eye-shaped button at the end of the field shows it in plain text, so you can check what you typed.
- Look at the list under the field. Each criterion is ticked as soon as it is met: “At least 12 characters”, “It must differ from your username”, “It must differ from your email address”.
- Type it again in Confirm your password. The criterion “Both entries match” is ticked.
- Confirm with Save and continue, on the Choose your password page.
If you get stuck
Link to the “If you get stuck” section| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The password is refused, with a message under the field. | The message names the rule that is not met. Correct it, then type both fields again: they are emptied after a refusal. |
| The refusal is about your previous passwords. | The new password must be different from your last three. Choose another one. |
| All the criteria are ticked, but the password is refused. | The list does not know your previous passwords. Only the server checks them, so read the message under the field. |
| “This link has expired.” on the password page | The email link is no longer valid. Ask for a new one: see Sign in or Change your password. |
Good to know
Link to the “Good to know” section- Under the list, a sentence recalls the history rule: “It must differ from your last 3 passwords.” It also appears when you sign up, where it does not concern you yet.
- “Different” means “not identical”. A password that contains your username among other words is accepted.
- Saving a new password closes all your sessions. The page says so: “All your sessions will be closed: you will sign in again with this new password.”
- Your password is never stored in plain text. The sign-in service only keeps a fingerprint of it, and the application itself has no access to it.
